Challenge versus threat getting through Corona Quarantine

Challenge versus threat

We are amidst change. We unconsciously/ automatically evaluate if we have the resources to navigate the change.   If we perceive that we do have the resources needed, we view change as a challenge. If we perceive that we do not have the resources, we view it as a threat.

Resources such as:

  1. access to teachers online. ability to receive instructions to assignments.
  2. Belief that parents can still pay the bills.
  3. Belief that they likely won’t get sick, and if they do, they will have great medical care.
  4. Belief they are not missing out on fun activities with friends (fear of missing out)
